I thought we found all the bugs, maybe not. I like to work in the forms and worksheets sometimes, then go back with step by step. I entered some data in the worksheet for misc. Itemized Deductions line 28. It was flagged and error message said not eligible for electronic filing. So I erased and entered directly onto the Schedule A, It was flagged and error message said, direct entry not allowed, the data is pulled from the worksheet, electronic filing not allowed. After an hour on the phone last night, I called again and worked on it with Isaiah. I erased my direct entries and canceled my overrides, and entered the data using Step by Step. It worked! no flags! No worries! BUT, I should be able to at least enter data into the worksheet, if not the actual form itself. I hope it can be fixed in the future if not this year. I will be checking it if chosen to be a beta tester again. I have an incident number if it is needed for followup by TT.

I was doing my daughters tax and when comparing the income/deductions with 2010 I noticed a big change for tax credits. I omitted entering IRA credits for her 401(k) on form 8880. TT would help if it alerted you to data/forms filled out prior year but omitted in the current year.

Is there any support online? So I can instant message and answer a question/concern? This is on many sites. If so, it should be easy to find on the webiste - under support or contact us 'Talk to online support'.

number entry should allow a dollar sign. Often if I am cutting and pasting a single number from another application (excel, etc.) the entry is rejected with "type a number." then I have to type it in, which means I am more likely to make an error. I would suggest just ignoring a dollar sign.

My son lives and works in New York City. While discussing TT, he indicated that many people that he knows has used TaxCaster only to find that nearly all of them owed $6K - $7K. I decided to try it myself using his income information, and at first glance, seemed to owe $6.8K. In futher trying to understand the site, I realized that, while filing in the income, fed tax and state tax fields, the DEDUCTION ICONS are 'blinded' requiring the user to use the orange CONTINUE Button. I am curious if those people may have only filled in their income and were distracted enough by the REFUN"D METER, that they ignored the fact that they entered NO DEDUCTIONS. Everyone of the 8 or 9 people that he spoke of had the opinion that they would not use TT because TaxCaster said they owed money. If this might be true, it creates a lasting impression. Perhaps something could be considered that provided a continual reminder that deductions must be entered.

Every year, I get more and more annoyed by the silly screens that show up promising to save me money on a deductible IRA. This, in spite of the fact that I've already input my IRA contribution for the tax year and the income I show on my tax return makes it clear that I can't claim a deduction for an IRA contribution. Same goes for my parents' tax return, both retired and over age 70 1/2, who can't contribute to an IRA without incurring a penalty. These ads should absolutely NOT be showing up for those of us who can't possibly purchase the advertised product.

Last year ... I used the Online Option and was fortunate I printed out a copy of my 1099s because they were lost for the season. This year ... I've been trying to enter my 1099 information for almost 10 days & keep getting kicked out of my sessions for various & sundry reasons ~ locking up, "inactivity" ~ though, this happened again just tonight when I clicked on the "continue" button to finish creating a 1099 for one of my contractors. Hey ... I've even tried using multiple browsers (IE and Chrome) ... doesn't matter ... system isn't working ... worse than pulling teeth. PLEASE, just give me back the option to create my 1099s on my desktop ... thank you.

There is no tax category in Quicken Home and Business for self-employment health insurance premiums. As a result they they are not imported into TurboTax requiring a manual entry in TurboTax. How about fixing this import issue to TurboTax from Quicken for self-employment health insurance premiums
